Grids of Ceramic Plates Form Intricate Drawings: Drawing and ceramics artist Molly Hatch creates work that combines her interest in historic trends with a mix of contemporary styles, designs, a sense of humor, and a bit of pop culture. In these pieces that she calls plate paintings, historic source imagery from MFA Boston and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC are her inspiration. Each plate contains an intricate drawing that, only when combined with the full grid of ceramic plates, creates a stunning display.

"I have nothing now but praise for my life. I’m not unhappy. I cry a lot because I miss people. They die and I can’t stop them. They leave me and I love them more. … What I dread is the isolation. … There are so many beautiful things in the world which I will have to leave when I die, but I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready."
